How to Edit Your Invoice Templates with AI

You can now customize your invoice templates using plain English — no code or design skills needed. Inside the visual editor there's a new AI editor section: type what you'd like to change, and the AI generates the updates for you to review before anything is saved.

Note: The AI editor is available on all paid plans. On the free plan, opening it prompts you to upgrade.

Open the AI Editor

  1. Open the Invoice Falcon app from your Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Templates and select the template you want to edit.
  3. Click Open visual editor.
  4. Expand the AI editor section at the top of the settings panel.

Tip: You'll also find a Try it out card on the home page under Latest updates that takes you straight to the visual editor.

Make a Change

  1. In the AI editor section, type your request in plain English — for example:
  • "Hide the SKU column"
  • "Change the accent color to blue"
  • "Rename the title to Tax Invoice"
  1. Click Generate Changes to see a preview of what will change.
  2. Review the proposed changes.
  3. Click Apply Changes to keep them, or Cancel to discard.
  4. Save the template as usual to make your changes permanent.

Note: Nothing is changed until you click Apply ChangesGenerate Changes only previews the update so you can review it first.

What You Can Change

Use the AI editor to:

  • Toggle fields on or off (for example, hide the SKU column or show country of origin).
  • Change colors and fonts.
  • Update labels (for example, rename "Invoice" to "Tax Invoice").
  • Adjust the invoice number prefix.
  • Make layout changes to the template code.

All of it is driven by describing what you want in everyday language.

Known Limitations

  • The AI editor requires a paid plan.
  • Changes are previewed with Generate Changes and only applied when you click Apply Changes — and you still need to Save the template to keep them.
  • If the AI can't find a change for your request, it shows "No changes detected for this request. Try rephrasing." Reword your request and try again.
  • The AI edits the template you currently have open; it doesn't change other templates.

FAQs

Q: Do I need to know how to code?
A: No. You describe what you want in plain English and the AI makes the change — including layout changes to the template code.

Q: Does it change my template immediately?
A: No. Generate Changes previews the update. Nothing changes until you click Apply Changes, and you still Save the template to keep it.

Q: Can I undo a change?
A: Before applying, click Cancel to discard the preview. After applying, you can ask the AI to change it back, or adjust the setting manually in the visual editor — and you can always close without saving.

Q: Which plans include the AI editor?
A: It's available on all paid plans.

Q: Where's the "Try it out" card?
A: On the home page, under Latest updates — it opens the visual editor where the AI editor lives.
