How to add store domain in your invoices

Adding your store domain to invoices makes it easy for customers to revisit your store, reorder products, or reach your website for support. It acts as a subtle but effective branding element — reminding customers where they purchased and how to get back. The domain text appears at the bottom of the invoice alongside your footer notes, keeping the layout clean while ensuring your web address is always visible.

Open the Store domain settings

The Store domain field is located in the Extra information section of the Visual Editor.

  1. Open the Invoice Falcon app from your Shopify Admin.
  2. Click Templates in the left navigation menu.
  3. Click on the template you want to customize (or click Edit on the template row).
  4. Scroll to the Visual editor section and click the Open visual editor button.
  5. In the left panel, click the Extra information section to expand it.
  6. Scroll past the Order notes and Footer notes fields to find the Store domain checkbox.

Note: The Extra information section also contains Order notes, Footer notes, Order barcode, and other fields — those are covered in separate articles.

Understanding the store domain field

The Store domain checkbox controls whether your website URL or custom text appears near the bottom of the invoice.

What it displays

  • When enabled, a text line is displayed below the footer notes area on the invoice, centered in small gray text.
  • The text comes from the editable text field that appears when you check the Store domain checkbox. You can enter your full website URL (e.g., "www.yourstore.com"), your Shopify domain (e.g., "yourstore.myshopify.com"), or any custom text you prefer.
  • The store domain text is the same on every invoice that uses this template — it does not change per order.

Editing the store domain text

  1. Check the Store domain checkbox to enable the field and reveal the text input.
  2. Type your store's web address or custom text in the field. The placeholder shows "yourstore.myshopify.com" as an example.
  3. Click Save at the top of the Visual Editor to apply.

Some common uses for the store domain text:

Tip: If you have a custom domain set up in Shopify, use that instead of the default .myshopify.com address. It looks more professional and is easier for customers to remember.

Where it appears on the invoice

The store domain text appears near the very bottom of the invoice, in this order:

  1. Items table and totals
  2. Payment information
  3. Footer notes (if enabled)
  4. Store domain ← your domain text appears here
  5. Social links (if enabled)

The store domain text uses the same styling as footer notes — centered, small font size, and gray color — keeping it visually consistent with the footer area.

When it appears

  • The store domain row only appears when both the checkbox is enabled AND the text field has content. If you enable the checkbox but leave the text field empty, nothing will display on the invoice

Default state

  • On by default with an empty text field. The Store domain checkbox is checked when you create a new template, but the text field is blank. You need to enter your domain for it to appear on invoices.

Enable or disable the store domain

  1. In the Extra information section, check or uncheck the Store domain checkbox.
  2. If you enabled it, type your store's web address or custom text in the text field that appears below the checkbox.
  3. Review the live preview on the right side of the Visual Editor — the domain text updates immediately.
  4. Click Save at the top of the Visual Editor to apply your settings.

Note: Changes apply only to invoices generated after saving. Previously generated PDF invoices are not affected — you will need to regenerate them if you want the updated layout.

Troubleshooting

Symptom

Likely Cause

Fix

Store domain does not appear on the invoice

The Store domain checkbox is unchecked, or the text field is empty

Enable the checkbox and enter your store URL in the text field

Store domain text is too small to read

The domain uses the footer font size by design

Increase the base font size in the Color and fonts section, which will proportionally increase the domain text size

Domain shows on new invoices but not old ones

Previously generated PDFs are not affected by template changes

Regenerate the invoice to apply the new store domain text

Domain text is not clickable in the PDF

PDFs render the domain as plain text, not a hyperlink

This is expected behavior. Customers will need to type the URL into their browser

Different templates show different domains

Each template has its own store domain setting

Update the store domain text on each template individually

FAQs

Q : Does Invoice Falcon automatically use my Shopify store URL?
A : No. You need to manually enter your store domain in the text field. Invoice Falcon does not automatically pull your Shopify domain — this gives you the flexibility to use a custom domain, a specific landing page, or any text you prefer.

Q : Can I make the store domain a clickable link on the invoice?
A : Not through the Visual Editor. The domain renders as plain text in the PDF. If you need a clickable link, you can add an HTML anchor tag using the Code Editor.

Q : Can I use different store domains for different templates?
A : Yes. The store domain text is saved per template. You can set a different domain or URL for each template — for example, your main website on invoices and a specific support page on credit notes.

Q : What happens if I enable the checkbox but leave the text field empty?
A : Nothing will appear on the invoice. Both the checkbox must be enabled and the text field must contain content for the store domain to display.

Q : Is the store domain the same as the footer notes?
A : No. They are separate fields with separate checkboxes. Footer notes appear directly below the payment information section with your custom message (e.g., "Thank you for shopping with us!"). The store domain appears below the footer notes as a second line. You can enable one, both, or neither.
